Taken too soon

It really upsets me to hear these stories. You did everything you could, it's just so sad there wasn't more to be done. I think we all try and block out to an extent, the things that can happen to us while we're out there. I like to think that the gear I wear would help me in a spill, but I still only wear a half helmet. I don't know what to say...but I will keep the stories from this site in mind when I choose my gear for the day. Thanks for venting, it's good for everyone.

Toe Knee I figure that because of the lengthy post that I made, I should update anyone that was interested......I was kicking around the idea of having my brother, who is a police Sergeant for my home town, call the lead investigator in this case just to get some details on this HORRIBLE accident.....I was going to maybe do so for my own sake but I decided that it was better left alone.....

I was at the gas station again on Wednesday and spoke to the owner who was there originally and he confirmed everything that I expected and had written in my first post....the young man had just bought the gsxr and was out front of his house "fooling around" in front of his FIANCE and an older lady in an svu (on the cell phone) was speeding up the street and hit him while he was turning on to the same street.

The owner of the gas station says the they have a huge roadside memorial for him but I could not bring myself to checking it out.....especially when he told me that the Girlfriend that I mentioned in my first post was his FIANCE and they were going to be married THIS WEEKEND!

So sad....he got into some other nasty details about the injuries that the young man sustained but I have no intention in posting them....I saw then first hand and trust me-they were extensive.

So yet again, I say thank you for the chance to vent a little and I ask that everyone remember that whatever we do on our bikes will not only impact ourselves but will effect many others around us.......have a good weekend everyone and RIDE SAFE!!!!!!!

Toe Knee thanks for the kind words, everyone....I think that I am going to try to find out as much as I can about the accident so that I can make sense of it....It was ssssoooo strange.... I can't for the life of me, figure out how the whole accident happened....I can't piece together whether it was the stupidity of the young man on the bike or if it was the woman driving the suv that hit him....I couldn't tell who hit who....I was pretty shake'n up buy this thing yesterday but I'm better today.....In a way, I WANT to hear that it was an inexperienced rider who just bought a bike too advanced for his riding skills and was riding irresponsibly....at least if that was the case it would make more sense to me....anyway, thanks for the opportunity of venting last night!

RIDE SAFE everyone!
