New bike, you say?

Madeline had a recruiting visit yesterday. In Indiana. We covered Upper Sandusky to Indiana in less than an hour.

I think we can easily do Iowa and a big chunk of Nebraska in a day. After that itís all gravy. Short rides. Out in a week back in 3-4 days. But I figure itís a 10 day total commit for you and I with a side ride through Yellowstone and descending the beartooth.

Mystery, get it? A lot of people think thatís funny.

Mr. Efficiency Ya never know. An RT? Maybe a new GSA, but itís just gotten to be too much. Itís a little crazy.

De facto, yes. There are vast swaths of states like Nebraska, Wyoming, Montana and Nevada where it is highly doubtful a group of motorcyclists will be pulled over unless they are riding at warp 6. I have ridden through states like Wyoming and Nevada and Montana without even thinking about my speedometer.

Now note, none of this ride will be on a slab. This is 100 percent two lane, no chain restaurants... real Americana on the original road west.

Now keep in mind... because I use rectangular panniers, I keep it under 110. I am considering a new bike, though....

I am just busy with work and life. Work has been challenging and my daughter is going through the sports recruiting/campus visit/college selection process along with getting through with junior year/lifeguarding school and her first job working with children (she is going to be an art therapist)

Also, the weather has been miserable, so I am working hard so when things get better, Iíll have no commitments.

This is a VR group ride (One other of us is coming already). I am also looking into actually having a support vehicle from a member that doesnít ride anymore.

Close to 15 guys have made the journey so far. Believe it or not this is the easy part. No speed limits, nobody in the way, no traffic. We will see prairies, mountains and the pacific.

SAMM, Blood Runs Red on the Lincoln Highway... the final chapter...

SAMM has done a big thing. As a group we have covered the original Lincoln Highway alignment from east to the Iowa border.

Finally, I will get my daughter to college. She will be in Europe in June, 2020. That means no more responsibility. That means, finally, the SAMM odyssey to ride the original Lincoln highway alignment through the unpopulated west in two weeks fro. Iowa to San Francisco and back... is on. There will be two side rides as well. Undetermined but the beartooth/Yellowstone or the million dollar highway is a possibility.

So start planning now. June, 2020.
