If you would like to pay more for the same results.......
Mobil1 15w50 has almost the same exact specs as Mobil1 Vtwin 20w50 at a reduced cost.

The oil/filter change is done. It took longer than usual...first time on this bike...but it's done. Before I began I had to chase down a new filter removal tool because the one I had for my old Honda didn't fit. I didn't expect it would though, so I did that before I even started the job.
I read somewhere on the net that a 14mm crush washer would do and I already had those in the shed. After I removed the plug, 14mm was obviously too big. My best measurement shows that a 10mm crush washer is needed. It looks like there wasn't one on already, so I did without it this time. I hear it's OK to do that.
How hand tight was a guess, since I couldn't get my truckasaurus hands in there to get a good grip, so I used a tool and some experienced guessing.
What caught me up was the gear oil drain plug. I didn't remove it because I didn't have anything that fit it. That'll have to wait until tomorrow...another run to the auto store.
So here I go again...
Can anyone confirm the ID of the oil drain crush washer?
Is a crush washer needed for the gear oil drain, too. Same size?
What size socket will I need for the gear oil drain plug?....EDIT...Never mind. I was able to freeze a video. It's a 21mm.
As previously confirmed...I'll listen to whut yinz tell me.

I'm careful not too stock too far ahead though...I had just purchased several cans of BelRay chain lube, chain cleaner, and some other stuff for my Honda before it went South, which means I have about $50.00 worth of supplies I'll never use in the shed. Luckily, one of my students rides a VLX.
Oil - check
Filter - check
Gear oil - check
Plugs - check
Now to track down a good option for one of those darn air filters...Another topic for another day.
I'm still mulling some Vance and Hines pipes, too.
The fun never ends. 🙂
