Rich Boroff Not knowing how old is old, I'm old too. But I do roll on the throttle some. As for roads, come up north and ride some twisties. A lot more fun than straight roads!!!If you really want some fun, come up for a track day at Tony's track days. He just had a non-sportbike day at Palmer Motorsports Park, Look that one up too. Be good By the Way! What the sam hill is a BEENY

Chedell Everyone operates their bike differently. I'm old and in no rush except sometimes for a bathroom. Down here it is as flat as a pancake and when we get rid of the "Beenies" the lights go on blink, so a lot less starting from a dead stop.

Yes, and I like it.

After installing, I killed the engine the first time I moved the bike.
Never have since.
I don't drive like speed racer. Every light that turns green is not the start line on a 1/4 mile track.
I've found only a little tiny bit of extra throttle is needed to get going, and clutch lever application is the same.

BullyVarder My '08 C50 has done 37,000+km of which at least a third has been towing a trailer. DJ drive has been in for 20,000 km now. I live and ride in mostly relatively flat open country and highway and my bike+trailer cruises highway speed no problem with DJ drive, even overtaking trucks in top gear on longer open stretches, just not much happening quick beyond 120km/70mph. Never had a clutch problem so far. Just came home from a long distance shopping trip today 100kmh/60mph highway cruise with trailer grossing, my estimate, 190 kg and got 20km per litre (47.5 miles per US gallon) out of it. Apart from being more judicious with clutch use, I've never found any down side to the DJ conversion.

beezer If the DJ drive is installed which has higher gears it won't have that low end pull everyone likes. We all like to gear it up from lights or stop signs. Maybe since the mechanic is so good that he can't do no wrong it must be operator error by deciding to do the DJ install in the first place.

Capt Cruiser Again, I've never heard of a drive causing premature clutch failure.

The fact that one of the clutches only went 1000 miles makes me think the installation procedure is flawed. Something is getting missed.

I'd recommend trying a Suzuki mechanic for the next clutch. He may see something at disassembly.

Rich Boroff No but by a person who is probably the best mechanic in the area.
