upstate ny vacation advice needed

the wife has requested a fishing trip for our anniversary

(did it on the honeymoon also)
im thinking salmon river area

it will be late sept/early october 2020

any input for places to stay? stay away from?
maybe a suggest guide for a day or so?

Another option is anywhere around the finger lakes. Some good wineries in that area also.

head to Lake George...stay at the Blue Moon Motel...tell them we sent you there...they will treat you like family...no matter what direction you choose to ride using Lake George as a home base , great riding...spend a day in Lake Placid...take a cruise on the Minnie Ha-Ha in Lake George... lots to do, lots of good restaurants and you should see some great foilage.

not really a fisherman so don't know but have to assume there should be some great fishing in the area... hopefully someone in NY can suggest great fishing areas you may want to consider.
