Hug 'em if you've got 'em
A young man who grew up right down the street from me and Mike died this morning when the condo he rented in the next town over caught fire. Seven local fire companies kept the flames from spreading to other units, but they couldn't save Jerry.
As a kid, he was kind of a pest, forever riding his skateboard and mountain bike in the street, doing tricks off ramps he built with his pals ... bush-whacking through our woods and riding his ATV in our field without asking permission first ... just being a little PITA.
<Sigh> So silly I used to be annoyed by this.
I'm not looking for sympathy. You can send that to his wife and 2 little kids, or to his mom, who still lives right down the street. I can't imagine what they are going through right now.
My only point in posting this is to remind y'all that life is unpredictable and much too short. Hug your loved ones if you've got 'em, because you just never know what's next.
Love you people. <<Hugs>>
