if ya don't get a bigger bike, then the option you have is to do 3 things:

Better intake
Aftermarket fuel processor
aftermarket exhaust

All will get you 20% increase.
Not much but 20% of 45hp can be noticeable.
Just remember : it's a cruiser not a crotch rocket or sport tour

Liking the power more now, afer 4000 miles - and I can pass on the highway at 85, and she will climb most hills, but still.......

Gonna do the under tank intake mod for $55 (have to look up the link again here) and get a processor. Pipes may be in my future, but I'm just not that interested in loud.

Under a grand will get you the 20% - if you want more, then.....

BABB!!!

New pipes are not just for loud.
If ya stuff more air in the engine ya hafta allow more pipe to let it out.
OEM pipes are too small for this job.
I have V&H cruzers, not loud 'till you lean on the go lever and smartpartz sells baffles to help quiet them.

The Cruzers are probably gonna be my choice. A couple folks here have recommended them.

BABB

I recently installed a set of V&H Cruzers on my bike. Simply adding the exhaust didn't result in any performance gains, but like box said, they are MUCH louder than stock.... A half hour on the interstate has convinced me of the value of Smart Partz baffles.... At idle though, it does SOUND like a Bigger Bike.....

Actually, Microsoft has trademarked the "tm" symbol, so we can just forward the beer to them!

This is actually an urban myth, based on a humorous article published in 2007.

You would be on the right track with an intake mod and a fuel processor, but your going to have to put pipes on also to get the air back out. If you do this you will be supprised of how much it does wake it up, I know I was.
