chaps man myself...usually colder temps when I start out, helps a lot... and as the day progresses and the temps get warmer, takes a second to unzip the chaps, store them in the saddlebag and just ride w/jeans. If the temps don't merit chaps then usually just use a base layer under my jeans.

Whats the big hurry...slow down and enjoy the ride!

I like the idea of heated vests, but hate the idea of being tethered to the bike...Mostly because I'll forget. Plus, battery powered lets you use it for other stuff

It also depends on where you live when in CT I could ride in the 40s pretty easily but here in Florida 40s I’m bundled up like it’s in the 20s

Snowmobile suit or insulated coveralls, gauntlet gloves to keep wind out of sleeves, turtle neck sweater or mock turtle neck protector. Basically dress like you're going snowmobiling.
Staying dry is the number 1 most important thing in staying warm.
