Yesterday a little after noon, my Mother-in-law passed a front loader on route 9 in Chazy, NY. As she moved to the side of it, the operator began a left turn and they collided. She was thrown from her bike and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A member of the V-Twin Cruisers Motorcycle Club (Freedom, VT), Gail Herman was a wonderful woman and an amazing mother. She leaves behind a son, daughter, and 3 grandchildren.

May she ride on roads that never end.

Thank you all for your kind words. She was a free spirit for sure.

Her mother and son blamed the bike and her choice to ride. Her club came to the services and the president said a few words. By the end, one of her brothers ripped off his memorial patch and gave it to her mother.

It was a touching moment and beautiful service.
