I'm sorry that it happened to you. Get better soon.

My first encounter was fun to say the least. I was in the left turn lane while the Honda accord was in the far right turn lane (right turn only). I remember letting out in 1st and then a car appeared on my side. I was lucky to have on pants due to his front half was on my right leg. Felt the heat from his and mine enginge trying to cook me. Turns out he ment to turn left and did not see me as we sat next to each other. Bad drivers are everywhere.

I feel your pain my friend, Also hit a car at 45 and broke my rib and hip. That hip injury is very painful. I was only in the hospital for a week and a half and a month and a half physical rehab.
I'm back to normal now. Hope you heal quickly!
Keep us posted.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. Glad to read all your gear did it's job.

I only have chaps for the legs and have been thinking about getting some kind of riding pants your experience has increased the likelihood I will get riding pant to go with my other gear.

another feather in the cap for ATGATT!

unfortunately, we can make our bikes a giant billboard of bright lights and cars will still fail to see us.

Thank you for sharing the details of the accident - it helps to be reminded that every 'normal' situation can turn weird in a split second. If there's traffic it's awful hard to prepare for every possibility, and there'a always going to be at least SOME traffic. I like your insight of adding more lights, that motivates me to add a second set of running lights to my 04 Nomad...luckily the "classic" cruiser style bikes can get away with that look stylistically...for the rest there's stealthy LED mini lights now that can be very unobtrusively mounted yet throw considerable dazzle our front. Get well, I gotta go install some lights!
