The bike is replaceable, you're not. So glad you're okay. I just got back in to riding after a few years. Always wore a full face helmet because I like my nose and chin, but now, even in NC heat, won't get on without leather jct. gloves, jeans and boots. Prior to that, I'd ride in shorts, T-shirt and sneakers, I guess age does make us wiser. Hope you're back to 100% quickly.

Glad you made it through that. I went down as well once and was fortunate enough to be wearing a helmet. All I broke was my hand but my helmet was FUBAR!

I still wouldn't "mandate" wearing one, but I sure as heck will not leave home without it.

You are 100% correct on wearing the helmets JIMMYZ. We rode over to Destin, Fl. a few months back and on way back we passed a guy laying out on the pavement very still...the ambulance was just arriving as we passed by and there were 10 people at least assisting the man. It looked like he slid into the concrete curb head first.

His bike was in the middle of the road along with an SUV and probably the lady driving it was one of the ones at his side. I don't know if he was dead or badly injured and never knew the outcome of the situation but I do know this, had he been wearing a helmet, i'm pretty sure he would have been ok because he didn't seem to have any road rash etc.

ONce the money comes together I'll be ordering a really good full face helmet. As of right now, I have a 3/4 helemt with a face shield. Don't go anywhere without my helemt, armoured jacket, jeans and ankle covering sturdy shoes.

Sounds like a pretty crazy accident, I'm glad your going to be alright. Only two weeks after the accident now, I'm sure you're still soar. Get well soon and ride your new (insert really awesome new bike here) to the court proceedings when you sue him for all he's got!

Hey, what's that button do?
