Does everyone/anyone remember when Zook posted the above photo to the VOL.. his daughter got a little carried away with the photoshop and removed the windshield from the bike.. I remember Zook mentioning it and everyone chuckling about it...

From SCRC...
Zane "Zookoff" Schroeder SCC# 120466 - Houston Texas
Member of the Conroe Texas Chapter.
Zane passed away following medical complications on March 8, 2004 at the young age of 43. Zane was only a SCRC Conroe member for a short time, but was well loved by those who knew him. The members of the Volusia Owners League have felt this loss very much as Zane was a very active member of the forum, and many in the Houston area knew him personally. He had also spent some time as a member of the Houston TX SCRC chapter as well.
Zane will be remembered as a man with great faith and integrity, with a genuine love for his family and friends. Zookoff leaves behind a loving wife, Melissa; daughter, Amanda; son, Zack; step-sons, Matthew, Bradley, and Jacob. Zane loved music, bikes, and most importantly, life... .

I came across this on my computer today. I wrote this last March.. I sent it out with the "Z" stickers that I made to VOL members.. My "Z" is still on my fork, and not too faded....

In memorial…

My Black color represents the depth of your mourning pain.
As time goes on my color will eventually fade, this is healing time.
Eventually I might fade completely away.
Even though my color fades, you must know I will still be with you.
For some I will fade quicker then others - no matter, no difference.
Sometimes you might need to reach for me to see I if I am still there.
Sometimes you will feel me, other times you won’t.
Worry not! I will always be there.

If I remember correctly, Melissa called to get a balance to finish paying it off and HD had forgiven the balance due to the large portion that was paid by a motorcycle group. (the VOLer's)

I know we had talked once about doing a run up to Riesel this year but I don't know if anyone still wants to do that or not.

Julie, Thanks for posting this info here. Zane made an impression on all the VOL members. He was an outstanding person. It is good to see
that that his memory is not lost after the VOL went down.

Renovo, Thanks for posting that story of Zook's. I had read it on the VOL. Zookoff could tell others why we ride. He also set an example for the rest of us that I hope we will not forget.

Thank You All

Words can not describe how I feel right now...You are all so incredible...I had no idea that all of you were thinking about Zane and the ones he left behind...I thought his family and I were the only ones that were still mourning for him. He was a great man!

Thanks to everyone for bringing back these memories. I had another chuclle when I saw the pic of Zook on his bike without the shield. Those were good times. Take comfort in knowing that Zook's riding season never ends now, and he always has clear roads and sunshine. We miss you!

Very nice tribute, Avol2.

Thanks!

I see a turning wheel on a dusty track
Caught in the void and empty space between there and back
And the paradise of going somewhere
That's still so far away

OH, Zane will never be forgotten.
Found a pic on my hard drive of Zane on his bike on the driveway, was gonna post it, but not sure how to. Just got here and haven't figured that out yet.

you can upload it to your gallery, but any pictures in the text have to be taken from another website..
