2010 M50 Fork Springs

Ok I admit this is my first time every replacing my own fork springs but I feel dumb. I have read several posts for instructions but I have had no luck removing the old springs. I jack the bike up, loosen the top bolt for the springs. While removing it they seem to only go so far then they just clunk every few rotations. So I lowered the bike so there was a bit of weight on the front tire and the bolt is floating on a white plastic piece. They won't pull out so I figure I just keep loosening the nut on top maybe it is all attached at the bottom. No luck any help appreciated.

Has no one ever replaced their springs with progressive or Racetech?

Progressive does not make a spring (front or rear) for the C50/M50. Racetech does, but it is front only and the truth is there is not much improvement over the stock springs. If your front end is jarring, then you would more likely benefit from changing the fluid and not monkeying with the springs.

The forks have to be removed from the triple tree and serviced off of the bike.
