Bolt for passenger pillion '08 C50 Mustang Seat

Got my Mustang seat & passenger pillion from the swap meet here, and installed with the stock bolt. Everything fit great, and we are loving the new setup.

Went for a long solo ride last Friday to see Bob Seger, ended up on a bumpy back road leaving the concert. Got home and noticed the bolt had shook itself out and the passenger seat was barely hanging on. Luckily, it did not fly off. I was all revved up after the show and ended up riding around for a few hours in the Michigan summer night, just enjoying life to the max hahaha.

Anyways, I know this is the part I need:
BOLT (8x16)
09106-08140

But I really don't want to spend $15.00 for the part and shipping..... And I would like to have it for this weekend to ride.

Can anyone help with the exact measurements and I can just try to go to hardware store for a replacement?

Thanks!

Go to any auto parts store, and look for their bolts section. Also, check local Home Depot/Lowes/Ace, etc. they often have Stainless bolts in stock.

You might not find the same head type, but any bolt M8-1.25 thread cut x16 mm length (or even approximately the same length) will do just fine. Go for stainless steel if you can find one, if not just get something plated for a few $.

Here is one example: https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/...5+bolt+x+16+mm

and make sure you add some Loctite so you don't find yourself in the same situation.

My Ace Hardware store carries them in chrome. Use "Blue loctite" or you may never get it loose again.

I can head East or West, it doesn't matter as long as it's on 2 wheels.

Eliminate the seat if you don't use it and buy a Ted Nugent ticket
