Rear Wheel Axel Bolt Nut Type?

Hi all;

While replacing the tire on my rear wheel (2009 C50SE), I noticed that the nut for the axel bolt was a regular locking nut and not a castle nut like I've seen in parts diagrams and youtube vids. But since the axel bolt is not drilled to accept a pin, I'm guessing my C50 was built like this. Still, this situation makes me a little uneasy - I would appreciate the added security a castle nut would provide.

Is this a safe thing? Did the 2009 C50SE not use a castle nut for my particular model, or did someone swap some parts around on my bike?

Thanks.

Mitch

My bet is a generic bolt and nut. All I've seen have castle nuts, hence the bolt has to be drilled.

I can head East or West, it doesn't matter as long as it's on 2 wheels.

I think my local dealership has a C50 in stock. Think I'll go over and check it out (and maybe give Suzuki a call as well).
