I am sorry for your luck. You are correct, it is cheaper to replace the engine, than to purchase the individual components to affect a repair.
The block of the C50 has remained unchanged since 2001, meaning the internal components are the same for every year. But in your case, the damage to the cylinder head and piston would necessitate a complete engine.
Any 2005 to 2009 engine will work in your bike. In 2012, Suzuki introduced a dual spark engine with O2 sensors in the exhaust. You will not be able to use on of those as your ECU is not compatible.
Your best source for an engine is going to be the internet. Most often you can find donor engines on Ebay for around $1200 US.
