Speedometer and handlebar questions

Hi All,

Got a couple of Noob questions... First one is about the speedometer and how it sits on the fuel tank. I've only had the bike for about 2 months, so maybe I'm just now noticing this but - Is my speedometer sitting correctly on the fuel tank? It looks like there is a really big gap between the speedo and the fuel tank. I pulled the screw and lifted up the speedo, it looks like everything is lined up correctly and doesn't look like anything is out of place. I've tried looking at some other photos but can't zoom in enough to take a good look.

Question #2 is about handlebars and risers. I like where my bars sit, but I don't like the look of these big goofy risers. I measured everything, as best as I can tell the risers are 5.5 inches, and the handlebar rise is 8.25 inches. I still have some wiggle room in my cables, my thought is to go with a smaller 1 or 2 inch riser and a set of 10-12 inch bars. That should keep the handlebars in the same spot without having to replace my cables. I've seen some nice handlebars on Amazon, they are 1.25 inch but taper down to 1 inch where the risers and controls go. Anyone have experience with these? Looking at the measurements I think they would work fine, the tapered sections should fit.

Thanks,
CG

The speedo is just fine. If it rode on the gas tank, it would wear the paint off, given all the vibrations from the motor.

The bars and risers on your bike are already aftermarket. There's no way to tell what brand, or where they came from. Your only option if you don't like them is to fabricate a new setup.

Thanks, that puts my mind at ease about the speedometer. I understand I'll need to replace the risers and bars, was wanting to know if anyone has used the tapered handlebars and if they work/fit well on the C50.

If you want to use the stock clamps, then they have to be 1" in diameter at the bottom. If you want to use aftermarket clamps, get what size fits, but still lines up with the holes on the riser. I'm not aware of any existing "kit", instead everyone just pieces together something that works.
