Bike stalls/cuts off at high rpm's

Hello New guy here,
I ride a 2001 VL800 I don't ride to often I have 14500 original miles on it. Anyway I am having a problem whenever I try to rev up rpms or shift to 2nd gear, it stalls/cuts off. So far I have repaired the carb with a kit. Stumped as to what else to do help please.

welcome...hang in there, usually someone here with some knowledge of these bikes can offer some help...hope you're up and running soon. Ride safe and have a good riding season.

Whats the big hurry...slow down and enjoy the ride!

You don't mention what exactly "high RPM's" are. I'm not sure what the Vol's rev limiter is but if I remember correctly, the C50's was around 57-5800........are you hitting that? I bounced off mine a couple of times and it just falls on it's face.

Lead, or follow, but just stay out of my way.
