Cool Riders clubs, what to look for

Hello Everyone, new Volusia rider here from Ontario Canada.

Being driving motorcycles for a long time, small engines up to 250CC though.

Living in Canada for 6 years pulled the trigger for a 2004 Volusia, I want to tour around, enjoy the outdoors beside commuting in summer.

I'm 43 and looking information to join riders clubs, adventure, charity but besides using google, what a first impression on what to look for besides common motorcycle types (a Volusia guy in a Kawasaki ninja club, lol) and I don't think hells angels is a choice either (not being disrespectful)

What is the look for things when looking and joining a group of riders?

Appreciate your kindness. cheers!

Find others with the same riding style as you, cruising, aggressive , long distance. Just start out riding yourself or with a friend. Chat with others you see on the road and find out about their groups. Get a contact # or ask if they mind if you join them on a ride.

I can head East or West, it doesn't matter as long as it's on 2 wheels.

You can check out meetup.com for groups in your area. The type of bike doesn't really matter, what matters are:

1) Do you get along with them?
2) Do they ride at a pace that is comfortable for you?

That's it. I ride in a group that includes a bunch of Harleys, but we've also had scooters and crotch rockets in the group too. What matters is that we all like each other and we're all comfortable with the speed and aggressiveness of the rides we do.
