I would modify the fake swing arm.

It is fake and modification won’t affect the look or the strength of the bike.

Modifying the drive deteriorates the look of the drive for future resale.

Just my opinion....

Buy one of the plastic swingarms on eBay. No modifications required.

Otherwise grind the Swingarm, not the drive.

I should have took pictures on the drive I just did last week, we ground the Swingarm.

It's a lot more work to grind the drive than grind the swingarm, besides the swingarm is fake anyway so even if you left it off it wouldn't hurt anything.
That's what I did leave it off, in my opinion it looks better that way anyway.

Don't be a dummy and ride unprotected, it's like picking up a prostitute without bringing a condom along for the ride.

Camaroguy, most of the grinding is near the axle hole. If I have a chance I’ll remove my swing arm and send pics of the area that I ground away. Took several removals, grinding and refits to get it right.
I’ll send pics of an original and the modified version to give an idea of how much needs to be removed.
