Thinking long and hard about doing the final drive mod this way. I really like my 03 Volusia, just wish I could keep up with the guys on the super slab. Thanks for the info and the pictures. This seems more doable than modifying the drive shaft.

The DJ Drive mod will lower engine RPM at a given speed. It will not make the bike faster, or help it keep up with bigger bikes on the freeway but it will make the experience a little more comfortable.

Units ready to drop in are available from members like Cory. That leaves your stock unit intact if you decide to go stock again.

I can head East or West, it doesn't matter as long as it's on 2 wheels.

I did mine this way a little over a year ago and after all said and done if I had to do it over again I would just buy a unit with a modded driveshaft.
I had a machine shop do all my machining and make me a bushing because I used a VL1500 drive. I did the job myself while changing my rear tire and wanting to lube up my swing arm.
When I sell my bike I’ll probably let it go with the modded drive and the original giving full disclosure to the buyer just because I don’t want to take it all apart again. I love wrenching but I wouldn’t do that again. It wasn’t bad just would be a bit of work to return it to stock.
