Back on two wheels!

Hi all! Indiana rider here just getting back on two wheels after about a 25 year absence. I used to ride in college and when I first got married, but I gave it up when we had kids because I wasn't comfortable with the risk.

All the kids are grown and moved out of the house, I decided it might be a good time to get back out there. I recently picked up a 2004 Volusia Intruder and am loving it so far. It's a great cruiser that I can take out on the weekends. Very comfortable.

Anyway, just thought I would join the forum to learn a bit about the ride as I do maintenance and possible upgrades.

Thanks for letting me in!

Welcome!
Glad to have ya aboard.
I started riding again about 5 years ago after a 40 absence!
Have you taken the MSF course? I would definitely recommend it.
Enjoy!
I have not yet taken the course. I have done some off road riding through the down years, just never on the street. But many people have made the suggestion, so I just might register for one coming up here. Thanks for the welcomes! It's good to be here.

Right now we're heading into the "non-riding" season....90+ degrees & 90% humidity....and I just did my hair :D
The other seasons are: stay away from the idiots & old people driving !

Greetings from Boston (for now)! You story is very familiar to many of us here. I stopped riding for 27+ years and got back into it on a whim four years ago. Now I have three bikes and am enjoying the hobby and community all over again. I'll add my vote to you taking the MSF course. Great course to dust your skills off and learn a new thing or two. Best investment in riding after safety gear.

Many of us rode when we were younger, then put bikes aside for change of life scenarios. I started riding again full time at about age 50. Now 63 and riding more than ever! Enjoy!
