Yankee Rally 2020 Survey - RESULTS ARE IN !!!

The results are in !!
Here is a link to the actual survey results

https://www.surveymonkey.com/results/SM-5R3NLV577/

A few things to summarize

Topping the list of what people want at the rallies is Good Riding and Decent rooms, 32 of 44 listed the quality of the rides and the rooms as most important (18 for rides and 14 for the rooms), Tshirts being the least important (not they will be eliminated, just lower on the priority list).

Almost 70% would ride up to 250 miles to get to the rally (some would travel even farther), which expands the range of rally possibilities.

56% think that 2 preplanned rides are good and 36% think 3 would be good
The ride distance most popular was a little spread out (as expected) with the leader being 100-150 with 45% of the vote with 38, which would mean that 2 preplanned rides would be good with a shorter and longer ride.

Kickstands up time is pretty consistent with what we have had in the past
But between 9:30-10:am was overwhelmingly picked by 64% of the vote of course if a longer ride was planned then they may leave a little earlier.

Here is a short survey for next year so we will have a good grasp of what is important to all members.
We are not planning any big changes, just trying to get a feel for that the folks want.

This is NOT the rally thread, but comments are welcome.

The banana thing is a slippery question.

Nothing is sacred. Not even the banana.

Only comments I heard from several people yesterday that was the weekend of the 4th, (which would have been great for me personally), would be a no go for them. I think you'd lose at least 4 or more rooms if it's that weekend.

Thanks for stepping up Chris, Mike, Dom, and Chris

If not on vaca people generally do family and local oriented things the weekend closest to the 4th.

out of the 14 or 15 places I contacted only 2 had the 4th available anyway.
between the 26 rooms we used at NYRR and YR rooms 20 (-4) duplicate folks, + 6 rooms from folks who said they would return if it was moved. we need about 40 plus rooms.
which makes sense as the first year in LG we had the entire Blue Moon and 15 rooms at the Barberry. (and 1 at the campground)

40 would make for a good guess...I think if you asked for a head count at this point today, you might need 50 rooms...by the time the rally rolls around next year, figure 20% will have canceled...figure 8-10 rooms there...maybe, maybe not. Location may be a factor...what week is chosen may also be a factor...and $$$ may also be a factor...be interesting to see what the final picture ends up looking like....

Whats the big hurry...slow down and enjoy the ride!

The week we have been having it seems to work for most, if it's available somewhere that would be a plus for sure.
