The best things are worth waiting for, Lu. Glad you're finally getting to cross it off your list.
Ride safe, my friend and enjoy.

I can head East or West, it doesn't matter as long as it's on 2 wheels.

Don't forget to do the Chief Joseph Highway as long as you're that close...........I think it's better than the Beartooth.

Good, then Beartooth will be open, and won’t be closed due to snow.

I rode Going to the Sun road in Glacier in 2004. Went back in early July of 2011 to ride it again and it was closed due to a late season snowstorm. Got back to the general area again this summer and half of it was closed due to wild fires. Because of the wild fire menace I changed plans and went to Theodore Roosevelt NP instead. I've about given up on riding Going to the Sun in its entirety again. I hope you have better luck with Beartooth.

My brother lives in Huntley (just a bit east of Billings) and he says that they are expecting snow later this next week.........snow levels may drop as low a 3000 ft............that means any mountain passes will see snow. The Beartooths, the Bighorns, Yellowstone, etc......use caution and don't get caught in a snow drift.
