possible 2019 OctoVRfest sites

I’m back baby!! Woooooooooooo!!!

As before...OctoVRfest will be at a different area every year after this year’s oVRf in Cooperstown.

mtmous will be organizing the 2019 AGT in Maggie Valley and wondering if it is a good idea to combining it with them to have a huge diverse rally in an area that has the best roads east of the Mississippi.

need your help if it is a good idea or I need to be slapped around for even thinking it.....

Jim and I have exchange emails. I don’t know if it is a good thing to have both rallies at the same time in the same hotel..... same time, but different hotels.... have it different times and hotels or just go somewhere else (like West Virginia, then Maggie Valley in 2020).

Each option has it’s plusses and minuses.

On the positive, by combining both, we can have a huge diverse rally.

By having it at different locations (same time), we could organize a meet and greet. either a ride, or a dinner.

perhaps people like to have their own rally identity...then different dates and/or locations.

I’m riding Beartooth in Montana and Million Dollar Highway in Colorado in the last week of August and first week of Sept so OctoVRfest would have to be scheduled late Sept or first week of October (Wooooooo!! hey it’s North Carolina).

So vote, post, and fire away.

05 C50 --> 05 C90 --> 07 FLHX --> 08 GL1800 / 1994 FXSTS --> 2007 DL650 / 2011 FLTRU --> 2017 FLTRXS Woooo!!!

Too far away from me in either case.

I think we should combine them, but I couldn’t do the first week of the month.

I personally rather see it at a different site closer to where the folks from the northeast stand a chance of attending...love the idea of the different locale, always have and always will, but for most, the time required to attend these further away from the northeast makes it almost undoable. The positive of the AGT in sept does gives one the option of attending a new rally with a newer group at perhaps a time of year more would prefer to travel. Sort of an option in itself for someone wanting to meet new people and experience a new rally. Nothing against the 2019 AGT, and a rally I hope to be attending, but my feeling is keep the OctVRFest Rally somewhat closer to home.

I'm thinking (and yeah, that ability is returning) that keeping the rallies separate is easier all around. October weather doesn't scare me for OctVRfest. I love the idea of planning ahead for a adventure to Maggie Valley someday. 2nd wkend in Sept is one I'll never be able to make... anywhere.
But it was great to read about the AGT in New Mexico...that's been added to the bucket list.
My vote is for as many rally options in different places on different dates so people can hit whatever their other lives allow.
