Meredith, NH HD...right next door to Laconia...and the bike wasn't a c50...was a brand new 109 and to make matters worse...believe the guy who owned the mc at one point owned a HD...not sure about that last part tho...

Whats the big hurry...slow down and enjoy the ride!

not bashing HD on this instance, just that particular service dept...last year on my way home from vacationing in Maine was heading to NH to meet a friend for lunch. Shortly after crossing the NH line my stator went and had to get the bike towed to a dealer for repair. Closest one was about 20 minutes away,,,a Honda dealer so I figure they work on metrics, shouldn't be a problem.Could have gone to the Suzuki in Laconia a bit further away, but the tow guy informed me with all the construction, traffic was a mess so I opted to take it to the Honda place.
when I got there, told service guy about the history the 05/06's had with stators and after looking at several other possibilities accepted the fact that it was indeed the stator. Told me it would take a few days to get the part, wife picked me up and we went home. 5 days later, guy calls me tells me bike is ready...go to pick it up...how much?...$1.000...I look at him and say ...sure its not 997.52 or 106.75....nope $1.000...seems that was going to be the price the minute I signed on the dotted line...so I handed him my credit card and when he gave it back to me, he gave me a look that pretty much told me that he knew that I knew that he was f#cking me over....so the purpose of this story is that its not just HD dealers that screw people over....then again, at least they repaired my bike....fwiw...the repair on the high side should have cost me around 5 bills. They installed a new battery...last time my stator went on my 05, didn't have to replace the battery but ok...swallowed that...nothing else...appreciate my service guys even more now.

They go by the name of Laconia H-D....but actually they are in Meredith.
I know them pretty well as I used to work right next to them at the Volvo dealer.
They always come off as very aloof. Not surprising they would dismiss your friend immediately.

If it's Mike, he did own a Harley before, and he had a 109 before.

I just don't get how someone could do that to a rider in distress.

We should start a list of where not to go. It would be handy for members that travel a lot. Maybe a list of where we are treated well would also be good.

I just took my Indian back to the dealer because the rear brakes didn't feel right. Metal on metal feel. Only 11000 miles. Appt for Tues, dropped it off Mon & went to lunch. Halfway thru lunch, Joe, the tech, calls & tells me I can pick it up. It was slow so he went ahead & took it in. Brake pads are at 80%. In talking about it, found out I was feeling the ABS. (Suzi or Vic didn't have ABS). No charge, although he offered to break something if I wanted to pay . He was glad to educate me,not be condescending to a female & encouraged me to work on my bike & get to know it.
In Virginia took both Suziki & Vic to the Triumph dealer.
If you're in the area: D & D Imports on Little Creek Road, Norfolk. Ask for Bryan. Tell him my husband sent ya

YES Harley riders and dealers are nothing more than a cult and it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't start hanging out at airports they feel above all other brands especialy the ones that don't have the automatic chain oilers like Harleys do, case in point .listen to beezer

I was wondering why the frisbee was getting bigger........then it hit me!

I always thought the "I before E except after C rule was "weird" , but "Scientist" disagree ?

EVERY TIME I FIND THE KEY TO SUCCESS......SOMEBODY CHANGES THE LOCK!
