VZ800 vs VL800

I have owned a VL800 before, great bike. Am looking at a VZ800 cause the price is right, low miles, clean, $2500.

I just don't know much about the VZ800, is it the same engine as VL800. Anybody know anything on this?

Any info would be great.

What year? My buddy had an 01 vz800. It had dual carbs and they got out of sync and he ended up throwing the rear piston.

I just sold my '09 VZ. Engine & tranny, F.I the same, performance the same, other bike is a 2012 C50T. IMO, they (ride) differently, inverted forks on my VZ made the cornering better, the riding position on the VZ was more leaned forward. I sold the bike because two of them in the garage made no sense. I like my C50T better than the VZ, more relaxed ride, I like the floorboards over pegs, and the pullback bars fit me perfectly. There are some things that are different like the bars, gauges, fenders, front forks, but basically the same bike. If I could only have one, it'd be the C50T, 10 times outta 10.

Hey its a 2001, it has 6700 miles.. I literally looks untouched, the body is in great shape. It definitely rides differently, I was wondering how you guys felt about it on the highway? That would be my biggest concern. The VL800 was about 100 lbs heavier so it felt good on the highway IMO, but will I have issues with this one?

The fuel point hangs to the left in a vz and to the right on a vl

The fuel pump is different.
