So normally we spend a week in the White Mts of NH, Columbus Day week...we ride...ride, and ride some more taking in the color show, cruising the Kanc along with many of the great foilage viewing roads here and do some shopping in Conway. Unfortunately a wedding on Long Island forced us to cancel our week and reschedule to this week keeping our fingers crossed The Zeuss would find himself in more of a giving mood than he has done this year with the unexpected weather he has given most of the country this year.
We arrive Saturday and with one of the New England Clan living in the area, we always make it a point to plan a breakfast/lunch with ChromeDome & the Missus...Bob/Sherri..
So much for keeping fingers crossed, before last saturday arrived, Bob had let me know it would be in my best interest to leave the ride home...snow had already fallen and temps were expected to be in the 30’s all week….rain included. So we left the c90 home, did breakfast sunday with Bob & Sherri and spent the rest of the day seeking areas that may still have some color which we did find in the Laconia area.
Monday...raw & ugly...tuesday...rain rain and more rain...and with clearer skies expected Wednesday we found ourselves planning to spend the day doing some shopping/dining in Conway….
No sooner did we enter the Kanc...the color show begins,,,unfortunately mostly white...
really...not even november and further up the road at the first viewing spot
funny road,,,funny mt...decend the mountain…..one of those hmmmm things
ascend the mountain...more
pretty much the same thruout the 45 minute cruise on the Kanc…and yeah we miss the mc...we miss the color show...but we’re here together,
on vacation, really nothing to complain about. At least nothing I should be complaining about. Btw...did pass this shop in Conway
...new store...had planned to go back and get some...but as per the usual needless to say the lesson learned, never leave to later what can and should be done now.
Cutting the week short and heading home tommorrow...heading to Virginia to spend the weekend with my son on a job assignment there. Probably head to Tenn afterwards to visit my daughter too so probably take the 4 wheels instead of the 2. But we’ll see.
