That was my attitude, Russ. Apparently I was grossly mistaken....

You should have clued us in to the intent of this thread. Obviously something has happened other than what the topic indicates. Keep in mind many of our comments are directed at that premise with no knowlege of the specific issue.

You see, you want to make this some kind of "biker thing." These are people, all regular people, they want a break, that break includes no kids. As I said previously, that decision may affect you, but because you want to "just mention the circumstances" means "I want to air my linen in public and then have an exit when someone gets offended."

Well, let me be more succinct, some of the founders of our group and many others do not attend some of our rides because they don't want to hang out with other people's kids all days, they want to hang out with adults all day. They just want a break from their routine. It is not a crime, it is not so they can dress up like pirates and misbehave, its so they can get a break.

So give me one, stop being so sanctimonious. The bottom line is that its a pain in the butt. There I said it. And you know what, I'm overjoyed I said it. I started out being very diplomatic and very kind... and complimentary. Now I'm kind of a POed dude and not so much in the mood to be diplomatic.

There's no biker code, we were just tired of it.

I had no intention of making this thread personal. I wanted honest opinions to find out why some people feel the way that they do.

Might I suggest that this thread go no further?

Long standing friendships are only going to be harmed if it does.

Any further comments should be conducted via PM, or even better in person.

Just my suggestion.

When I want to read a really good Harley thread, I just turn to VolusiaRiders.com

Fine by me, Russ. Lock it and let it fade away. There's nothing else that needs be said anyway.

if i had to guess, this would be the primary reason most people feel that way. i know i always feel like sh!t after swearing in front of kids.

i don't think they really care about your safety or your kid's safety. most people are selfish and only care about having a good time for themself.

some rally's have a family atmosphere, i would not think twice about bringing my kids. however, there are several rallies that i would never take my kids to (btw - i love these rallies).

Think about it...if the shortcut was easier, it would not be called a shortcut...it would just be "the way".

Just one suggestion before you lock it up:
Skrap, start doing some FF rides. You did a good job hosting the 800-555 ride. Just be sure to post that ALL will be welcome so no one can ***** about it.
