Tail of the Dragon

Just got back from North Carolina and a ride on the Dragon. We left Frday morning-500 miles and 14 hours later we arrived in Maggie Valley. We rode through some of the worst rain I've ever seen for about 200 miles. It finally stopped when we got Tennesee. Rained all day saturday, but it gave us chance to visit the motorcycle museum in Maggie Valley- best 10 bucks I ever spent.Sunday was dry,but foggy so we headed out to slay the dragon. Quite a ride!!!! had to go back and do it 3 times. If anyone has a chance to do it,by all means go. Rode all day on some of the best roads that I've ever been on. Left Monday morning-500 miles and 11 hours later we're back home. My many thanks to Derek at the Applecover Inn. Can't be a more biker friendly motel in North Carolina!! My wife asked if I'd do it again-considering all the bad weather. My answer... you bet,I'm ready to leave now. Paul

When we made the trip to the Dragon, I was ready to move to the area. Beautiful country!

Very beautiful, and I like the ride to the dragon from Maggie Valley as well, almost as if you had already done the dragon itself.
