I use a gonovate wireless earbud that I picked up on Amazon. It was about 20 bucks and connects to your phone via Bluetooth. The main drawback is that it tends to get knocked out a little bit when put in the helmet on and usually comes out all the way when taking the helmet off.

I use Plugfones brand.
They are OSHA certified 25 dB reducing ear plugs that are also head phones. I used to wear wrap arounds and blast them. I tried the plugfones and I found it was more about canceling outside noise than it was overpowering it.
I can listen to things at a normal volume level while riding now.

I have an '08 C50.
Everyone makes me ride at the back because of my Morton Violators.
Longest ride: 1241 miles in 20 hours 15 minutes

Interested in a replacement gas tank, in black, but I'm cheap

Since I last responded to this I swapped out my aging G9 for the Freecom 1+. It's a great little headset and the price was reasonable.

I use the Boss MC420B Bluetooth speakers. Bought them on sale at bestbuy for around $50. It connects to my phone through Bluetooth or an aux plug. It has a volume knob that I attached to the handlebar with the speakers.

Boss now has a model (MC425 I believe) that has the amp built into the speakers to make wiring easier.

I am technology challenged as well. My kids showed me how to use the Spotify app which works good for me. Create a playlist and enjoy.

They sound good to me. I don't have any problem hearing them at 70 with a windshield and loud pipes.

I put the amp in a leather fork bag. I wired it to the aux light connection in the headlight bucket.

hey gundogblue...i will share my bike setup with you...i download load music from amazon onto my cell phone(AC/DC,Led Zepllin,Lynard Skynard,etc.)...i have speakers on all 4 of my bikes(of course the Harley came with sounds and is the best of my batch)...but the others sound good to me...i bought(buy)the blue tooth motorcycle speakers from ebay or amazon that have the amp in them...about $35 for a pair...very easy to mount to the handle bars and simple to wire...the real secret is to put the "bass" app on your cell because the cheap speakers don't have good bass...the speakers respond real good to blue tooth from my cell...from my settings control if open bluetooth to turn on the speaker, open amazon music to get my tunes, and open the bass app to adjust the sound to my liking...i may upgrade to higher powered speakers someday...but these $35 speakers are good for now...with your hearing loss you may want a 4 speaker set...hope this info helps you
