I have had several sets of Roadhouse 2 into 1 and have doolies on my Kawasaki. I like Roadhouse, but that dosn't mean you will. Ya just got to try to hear a set on a bike and decide if that's what ya like. Some of us have gone through many sets of pipes to get a sound we're happy with. |
i gots 'dose on my Volusia. sounds GOOD (thanks WGD...the seller of hand me down pipes....if you want what he has mounted on his bike, wait a bit, he'll be swapping em out soon enuf) |
actually I think what he has on his bike, used to be on my bike.

So I orderd cobra slash cuts and could not wait for them to get to my house. Finally UPS drops them off so I check them out thinking this is cool and 45 min. later I fire up the bike with my new pipes and say Sh........T. This thing sounds like a lawn mower with no muffler. It is the worst sounding bike I have ever heard. No low tone at all sound tinny I wanted deep and low. so yes I took them right back off after riding it up the road and back. these Cobra's suck! what sounds low and deap? Cobra pipes 4 sale cheap if you want your bike to sound Bad! |
If you want a Big Bike sound, then there's no replacement for a Big Bike.... You just won't get that deep, resonate rumble from a short stroke motor like the C50..... _________________ 2005 Boulevard C50 -

Last night I rode with fellow VR member, Tutone. He has gutted stockers. Although I prefer the look of my Straightshots to his stock pipes, the gutted stockers sound better IMO. _________________ "It's a chopper, baby!"

Isn't there a sound clip thread on here somewhere? That would suck- to put down the money on a set of pipes, and then find out they sound like crap. _________________ 2009 Speed Triple

Yeah, there are a few around but IMHO they never sound the same as in person. _________________ United States Tie-Dye Czar

SO true. Internet sound clips are NOT the way to judge the sound of pipes you're interested in purchasing. _________________ "It's a chopper, baby!"

Are you 100% certain the pipes were seated correctly and tightened up enough? When I went from aftermarket pipes back to stock I fired-up the bike and it sounds like a broken lawnmower on crack.....then I realized they weren't mounted properly.
Just a thought. _________________ "Chip" (formerly RI401) |

There are too many IDIOTS making recordings. Some too close, some using their cellphone, others a tin can! Some do record a moving bike coming and leaving, the best way I think. Doppler effect changes things. Some never leave the garage!
I mean who is going to put their head on the ground six inches from the pipes? I am looking for people with the same bike, hear what sound s good to me and then ask what they have and what they have done.
My wife still complains that it don't sound like a H-D and what she really means is "LOUD". _________________ 2007 V Star 1100 Silverado |

| I never found a sound clip of the cobra slash cuts. But, I have a friend with a honda 750 v twin and they sound real sweet and deep on it. Also another with a 650 v star with V/H cruzers and they sound great. both pipes appear to be about the same build. I just wonder if the valve timing suzuki uses just dont have have great sound characteristics. Cause today I listen to a c90 and a m109 both with pipes and i was not really impressed. The sweetest bike I have ever heard is my buddys roadstar 1700 w/cobra dragsters. thanks for all your feedback! Dan |
