| Announcement: New Banner Photo Contest! |
| Posted: Studly @ Wed Aug 25, 2010 8:05 am |
Fellow VR Members,
It's been mentioned before that plans are under way for an upgrade of the site. As part of the upgrade, plans call for a new "look" that, among other things, will include a new banner picture at the top of the screen to replace the basic Volusia/C50 we’ve had up there for years. Some of you have suggested previously that we consider featuring one of our members' bikes. Guess what? We listened!
We'd like to involve the entire VR community in this project and are inviting users to submit pictures of their bikes for use in the new banner. We're going to pick just one bike for the new banner, but there's also discussion of adding a "Bike of the Month" feature to the welcome page on down the road. That, too, was one of your suggestions.
Here are some very simple guidelines for the banner picture:
- The "banner bike" must be a Volusia or C50 of any year (2001-2009)
- The bike needs to be in plain view
- Bikes against simple backdrops (e.g., in front of a wall or garage) are better than complex images such as in front of a forest
- Pictures can be taken at interesting angles
- Pictures should be large but not bigger than 1000 pixels wide.
Entries should be posted in this thread and will be accepted until Friday Sep 3rd. http://www.volusiariders.com/viewtopic.php?t=111107
Good luck to all entrants and lets see those photos!
Studly
