Congratulations, I saw your posting on your new C14. I've got a 18 month old '09 C14/abs with 27,300 miles on the odometer and every time I get on I'm impressed. With the C14, the turns are built in and you can use either finesse or muscle to make it turn.
I'm not sure what MC you were riding before but I had learned some bad lessons riding an Honda VTX1800C. I suggest that before you make any modifications that cost money, you do following test.
While riding in a curve on an empty two lane highway, gently, without loosing control, let your hands ease up on the handlebars to see which way your C14 would go using just your weight to lean. When I first did the test, I found I was counter steering. As I gently eased up my hand pressure on the handlebars, my C14 turned further into the corner and I had been pushing the handlebars away from the turn. That leftover VTX counter steer habit burned up the OEM tires in 3000 miles.
I was just reading a thread from last year on lowers and saw that you made your own and mounted them to the bottom of your windshield. Have you posted any photos? I'm going to give this a whirl and looking to steal ideas.
