Wow, you're a woman on a mission!
Sticking around Calgary for a bit or are you already pushing on to the West Coast?
On a mission; left Calgary about ten hours after arriving. The drive from Calgary through Canmore, Banff, Field, Revelstoke ...... was stunningly beautiful.
I checked the weather and road conditions before I left Calgary and decided to go through Cache Creek and over the Duffy Lake road to Whistler.
Calgary to Whistler in one day
and what a rally route that would be. I could barely contain my excitement at the idea of riding this route. Why Whistler? you can bypass that gruelling route through the Fraser Valley and all the concrete/asphalt jungle going into Vancouver at the end of a long day and go through some of the most beautiful mountain scenery by going the back way through Whistler. Also, for solo travellers, there is a new hostel in Whistler that is wonderful and at $30 a night in a dorm, the price is right.
I've been in my new house just a week, painting, painting, painting ...
