I say do the re-jet and upgrade from the stock air filter too. Go for the power man!

My 03 had Cobra pipes when I bought it. I put a K&N in and jetted it. Let me tell you, it is like night and day. The bike absolutely screams now. I got my filter on amazon for around $30 if I recall.

Do it! You won't regret it.

I agree. I's much faster.

Even if you don't do the filter, you'll need to re-jet.

Fitted V&H cruzers and ran for a little while without rejetting. Horrible. Fitted K&N filter, rejetted, the difference is like chalk and cheese! Absolutely recommend new filter and rejet. You wont regret it.

Ok, I've got to ask a n00b question. I had an M50 that was completely stock and now have a C50 with V&H pipes. IMHO the C50 doesn't have the power that the M50 had, but it runs great. How can I tell if the bike has been rejetted or not?

C50s and M50s are fuel injected. They don't have carbs therefore cannot be rejeetted. They need a electronic box that reprograms the air/fuel mix. There are several available for example
EFI - Electronic Fuel Injection Controllers - ATVs, UTVs, Motorcycles, Snowmobiles, Scooters, Sport Bikes, Watercraft

OH and welcome to the site, pull up a chair, the beer is in the fridge.
