Sorry to hear about your father-in-law high side death.
![]() I was just speaking from my own experience I went over the handlebars at around 45 mph landed on my head. I expected too be really hurt but to my surprise the helmet saved me. No real injuries.![]() Not only do you need the gear you have too be lucky too. ATGATT I learned my lesson the hard way.

I'm with you on this. I have anti-lock brakes on my BMW R1100RT and enjoy using them when it's a little slick out (e.g. rain, snow, patches of ice). As a matter of fact, I've used the heck out of them over the past couple of days...especially in the mornings. However, aside from riding in these types of weather conditions, I like to keep them turned off.
