Note to cages- dont stop in the road!

A moment of silence for a brother killed locally (Hartselle, AL) last night. On a somewhat dangerous road anyway, two cars stopped in the road occupying BOTH lanes, just outside a curve. Dark outside, changing a tire, one car providing light for the other- IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. I did not know the rider personally but a very tragic story. God bless his family.

Not meaning to be argumentative at all, but the link to the report below differs greatly from the Decatur Daily report. Even the Decatur paper differs from eyewittness accounts that have said both lanes were occupied. The local reporting puzzles me very much.

Parked cars?

Report says parked cars, not cars blocking the road. First post says cars were in the middle of the road blocking both lanes.

Which was it?

We had a report on TV news about a biker dying when they hit a left turning vehicle. Turned out the left turning vehicle was in their lane turning left and stopped. No turn lane was available. She failed to see a vehicle stopped infront of her, hit it at 50 plus.

Sad, either way.

If they were blocking both lanes, wouldn't they be charged with something? Anyone have a follow up on this story?

Sorry to hear this. May he rest in peace.

Take media stories with a grain of salt. The best way to find out what happened to this rider is to get a copy of the police report when it becomes available.
