wont start

finally got a 87 degree day here ,so I go out to start my 2004 Volusia limited .... I hit the kill switch to on and when I push the start button my thumb also hit the emergency flasher the engine had a quick fire then everything went dead no idiot lights no nuttin.

I checked the 2 30 amp fuses and the fuse box behind the tool kit all are good. what should I check next?
or just load it up on a trailer and head to the local stealer?

1. Battery connections.

2. Battery charge level - use a volt meter with the key off and with the key on...

Even though a battery may show 12.5 volts, it could still be wasted in the amp department.

I've had many batteries do that.

Should be closer to 14v at rest and doesn't drop less than 12.5 while cranking....

6-8 weeks...take it somewhere else....had a similar problem earlier this year...sometimes would fire right up, sometimes nada...turned out to be the starter relay. good luck..doesn't sound like the place you took it is interested in your business.

Whats the big hurry...slow down and enjoy the ride!
