Floorboard recommendations please

OK. This is my first cruiser (01 Volusia) and motorcycle in a loonngggg time. Pretty happy with it so far and appreciate all the good vibes from the folks on this forum.

One of the mods that I did was to pick up a set of generic floorboards. After installing them, I find it much more comfortable to ride, but that I'm having an issue shifting (mostly up). I thought the shift pedal needed adjustment and have tried everything. I was starting to think that maybe I have a mechanical problem.

In speaking with a few more seasoned riders, the conscientious is that the floorboard sit too far out and are not letting my toe get a straight pull up on the pedal. They use the same mounting points as the pegs did and they do seem to sit out further from the frame.

Any experience or recommendations on a brand/model of floorboards that might work better? Is this the cause of my shifting issues or are the other riders FOS?

I have original floorboards on my c50, like them so far (bike is very new to me), but have the same issue of "less comfort" using first few gears, as opposed to foot pegs that I am used to on my previous bikes. Made me get used to the heal shifter fast, though I was planning to completely ignore it at firs. Ignore for the reason of not wanting to add any variation to the standard shifting pattern ingrained in my mind. I believe that variation of a possible pattern is unnecessary in itself, but in case of froorboard+ thick boot combo, I appreciate it being there. I'll get used to it, it's not as complex as playing guitar or violin, for sure. From what I've heard from various riders on different bikes, every time I was tempted to install floorboards, this is a common situation. Most can adjust to it, some that don't can always just unbolt ;)
