Default Now I've seen it all!!

So I am trying to gear up to change the rear drive seal on my bike. I've been looking into buying a decent bike lift. Being a little strapped for cash, I'm trying to find a bargain price on one. Looked at Sears, and Autozone, and Harbor Freight. All pretty comparable in prices. I had heard many folks say they got a Harbor Freight one for like $70 with a coupon. Well, Harbor is selling theirs for $119, I didn't see any coupon. A little steep for me at the moment. so I check out fleabay, and lo and behold I find people actually selling the coupon for Harbor Freight to buy the lift for $59. I couldn't believe it. I guess you really can sell anything. Of course their disclaimer is that they are not actually selling the coupon, but their time and services for supplying the coupon. For $3 what do I have to lose? Actually, I am gonna check out a slightly used higher quality lift at a garage sale tomorrow, as found on CL, and i that doesn't pan out I might just try the coupon thing. I was hoping to start on my bike this weekend, but I can't get the seals locally, so I have to order them and wait anyways.

Stil a broom handle in there and straighten it up.. Put the bike in gear so it wont rotate.. it should go in no worries..Make sure to lube the splines!

Keep in mind folks you dont have to remove the whole rearend to replace that seal, just rear wheel then the bolts in the cover, then just pull cover and gear out with rearend still bolted up.

After all the threads I've read about lack of lubrication on the splines from the factory, I figure I will do a full lube job for peace of mind. If i'm going to take it apart that far, what's a little bit more going cost me. I don't like the uncertainty of not knowing the condition of the splines and shaft. With only 6000 miles on the bike, better to catch it now and prevent any future problems.

No. I told the lady I would come out and see it on Saturday. I figured I would call before I left the house. She didnt answer. I had the address, and said what the hey...When I got there no one was home. I called her later and she said she would go out to the house on Sunday and would call me. She didn't call me and I wasn't holding my breathe. What a waste of time!

So I bought the coupon on ebay for Harbor Freight liftIf it is a scam I am only out $1.25

After watching several Youtube videos of homemade lifts, I did experiment a little on my bike. I could get the back wheel off the ground, but couldn't safely wedge enough wood under the frame on my dolly to even think about removing the wheel.
