Hey everybody - in the past week, I've noticed an annoying buzz coming from my windshield at 65 mph. I located the buzz by gripping the edge of the windshield while it was doing it; the noise stopped. Visual inspection reveals a missing bolt - it's one of the two small ones with a knurled end & an allen fitting that go into the triple tree. Anybody know the size of that little bolt?

Ride your bike to Ace, take out the other bolt, match bolt size, replace and ride

Basically as Jendesigner said,
Any bolt will do, Determine diameter and length you want, and buy a new one. Make it stainless steel so it will not rust. Be good Richard Boroff |

Thanks all - I was thinking at first that I could just slip the new one in without taking the windshield off if I knew the size. Now I'm thinking that it's only 4 bolts (2 per side) holding the shield on, and it'll be easier to get the replacement bolt in without the shield in the way, so I'm just going to pull it & use the remaining bolt to get the right size. I'll probably just go ahead & get 2 stainless, and put locktite on 'em. Who knows when the one that's still in there will decide to back out if I ignore it?

Just be careful not to get the loctite near the actual windshield. Loctite and plastic do not play well together.
