Default Easy brackets and sissy bar

So I am attempting to install a sissy bar and my easy brackets. Problem is that when I install both the easy bracket knobs are angled and I cannot slide my saddle bags on. Has any one else ran into this problem or have a suggestion how to fix it.

did you use the brackets on the bike w/o any problems before you attempted adding the sissy bar...if so...i am assuming you are using the longer bolts that would be needed to use when also using a sissy bar...if not, depending on the type of ghost brackets, contact the company and order a set of longer bolts. If that is not the problem, sorry and hope others here can offer some helpful advice. Happy holidays.

Might check this out. It's the link to what DCinCT mentioned.

Motorcycle Saddlebags | Edge Quick Release Detachable Saddlebags Brackets and Edge Leather Rigid Motorcycle Saddlebags | Boulevard C50 (2001 - Present) | Suzuki Boulevard C50 / M50 and Volusia Models | Suzuki Motorcycles

Looks like they have a kit for $25 that contains what's needed for mounting with a backrest / sissybar.

They fit and worked fine before. I think adding the sissy bar made the mounts angled making it impossible for the mount to slide down. I think I do need spacers and longer bolts but don't know if the link will work with easy brackets. Plus the link doesn't work when you try to order them.

AH, you said ghost brackets in the first post (they were bought out or something and renamed to Edge Brackets). And bummer on the link not letting you order. May have to call them or something instead.

Mine angled with the sissy bar too. The bracket for the sissy bar isn't flat and causes the problem even with the longer bolts. I loosened the bolt a bit and I can mount my bags, Use locktite on the nut so it doesn't come off. if you come up with another solution please let me know.

Okay, for the easy brackets, I found this:

Suzuki Backrest Upgrade Kit - Great Bike Gear INC - Motorcycle saddlebags and accessory needs to go

Maybe it will be of help for you though most of them look like all the kit contains is a set of longer bolts.

Might look here to, looks like they have some vid about the system (I don't have the brackets personally, so I didn't watch the vid).

If the knobs are angled, some longer bolts with custom spacers (easily made by cutting some aluminum tubing at the correct angle) would do the trick and make the brackets stand straight. You can get some stainless steel bolts and aluminum tubing pretty cheap from a local hardware store.

I'm going to give that a shot come my next days off. I'm hoping I can get it to work.
