Default VA lightbar lenses not staying put

I've had the VA light bar mounted on my bike for a few months now but it seems almost daily now one of the lenses has spun in the housing so that the beam is no longer projecting where it is supposed to be. Has anyone else seen this with thier light bars? anyone find a way to stop the problem? I was actually thinking of trying to glue it down with some high temp gasket maker but it would have to go on the front side, as the back side has a rubber buffer which is supposed to [but doesn't] keep the light from rattling.

Update: I think I found a solution, but we'll see if it lasts today's commute. For the rattling, I used some 1/8th inch door seal strips around the retainer ring to hold the light secure. I also bent in the edges of the ring at the bottom in hopes that the light will hit that now and top turning, instead of just going behind it like it has been. Pictures of the light and bottom of the ring attached (you can see the lens is 90 degrees off in the second picture, this was before I did anything)

How is the lens held in?
Mine has wire clips that put a lot of pressure on the lens so it can't move....and never has.

Mine have a metal ring that clamps down around the lens, but it is held forward only loosely by a rubber gasket. Similar in shape and density to that found on your oil filter.

my right one is now glued down by some RTV but rattles like a baby toy. The left one is still a problem child. I tightened it down tonight and as soon as I hit the on-ramp to come home I saw it turn 90 degrees. I'm sure the other drivers enjoyed having a beam of light aimed straight in their mirrors.

Mine has the outside ring and there is no way that I can tighten the screw in all the way. The screw and nut at the bottom of the ring tighten and hold it in position. There is no rubber gasket inside mine.

Mine are "Grotes" and sit solid.

If I were you guys. I'd send a link to this thread to "Value Accessories" and see if they have any suggestions. That shouldn't be happening and it doesn't speak well for the product!

+1

I agree with t-man. Contact VA and let them know of the problem. Perhaps they have a fix available.

Just a thought, but maybe putting in a sealed beam in replacement of the bulb and lens would fix it.

my fix worked so far... they just didn't press in the retaining ring far enough to actually contact the bulb. i also used some window sealer to hold the bulb tight and rattle-free.

edit. I posted a update in my first post.
