Unhappy 07 C50 will not idle, dies, hard to start.

Man I need help. bike started not wanting to come down on the factory setting of 1100rpm. took it to a shop.they changed the secondary TPS and $400, still not fixed.
was told to take it to a dealer that had software to do the diagnostic.so I hauled it 100miles. they had it 5 weeks.told me they thought it might be the ecm.then they thought it was the throttle body. both with a price tag of over $1000 each. went and got it. replaced the TB and ECM still will not idle!!!!! freind has an 07 and let me barrow parts.
I am at whits end with this pice of J---k.
any help out there????

Another victum of ETHANOL.

Clogged injector. Idle is the first this to suffer.

Seafoam or powertune.
Powertune really works. Available from marine dealers. Need to force it inside of the injector and wait 12 hours. Then ride it like you stole it.

By the way, has this bike sit unused for more than a month?

Does it run when you give it more throttle? I would agree it sounds like injectors are clogged, try what Hi-Vis suggests...

It's hard for me to swallow that the shop and the dealer want to charge and change out the most expensive items on the bike to begin solving problems when advice here suggests fuel pump, Seafoam, and clogged injectors? I realize the OP may not have too many options for service and troubleshooting, but he's up to $1400 or $2400 with the same problem.

It's crazy. These techs only know to change out parts at the owners expense instead of working out the issues with the least expensive route first.

Good luck.

SKD91, the lean problem could also be due to air sucked in from an intake gasket/boot.

Good luck.
And they hate forums too.

Last summer I became interested in an adventure bike. 98% of what I read on the forums was good, which is rare on a new bike.

Before my test ride and while speaking with the dealers owner I asked if he had read what the forums said about the bike. Guys let me tell you, this dealer began bashing forums like the plague. I said "sir thats not what I read at all". When I told him that the forum reports were 98% good, you should have seen him eat crow. He swallered it too.

I like about 98% of the forums I've joined.

no the bike has not set. I ride it daily. just have to keep reving it when I come to a stop. I have ran 4 or 5 cans of Seafoam no help yet! the throttle body that I swaped had the injectors in it. so I dont think they are clogged.

If it is running smooth and just won't sit at idle, could you simply adjust the idle a bit higher?
