06 C50 Will Not Start - Suzuki Volusia Forums : Intruder Volusia and Boulevard Forum

Hey Guys,

Need some help. I just acquired an 06 C50 that has been sitting for about 6 months or so. I was told it needed a battery. I charged the battery that was in it and it did not hold a charge so I replaced with a new battery. It still did not crank. I then replaced the spark plugs, still not start. The lights work and it turns over strong. The clutch cable is good. When I flip the red button to turn the power on all lights come on and it makes a momentary buzzing noise that I am told is the fuel injector powering up. Press the black start button and it just turns overs and does not crank. Getting kinda depressing. Any ideas?

The buzzing is most likely the fuel pump and that knocks out one thing, you know it works, now I would pull the plug wire off and check for spark, did you put new fuel in it by chance?

I haven't tried turning over while plugs were out to check for spark. I can try that and post back. One of the old plugs did have gas on it when I took it out. I was chastised because I didn't know that turning the throttle on a FI system would foul the plugs.

Yes, it does have spark.

Oh, on the fuel it was dry. Added some new fuel and stabilizer.

Was the new battery fully charged ? Try jumping off the car battery without starting the car.
If you have good spark, good fuel, and compression..should fire, everything else is fine tuning

Yes, I charged the battery fully before putting it in. I was thinking the same thing. I can try using a car battery tomorrow. Oh, I also check the fuses as well. They were all good. The shop said something about the fuel crystalizing in the injectors I believe, because it sat for about 6 months or so. Never heard of that before.

Probably used the word "crystalizing" as we would use the word varnish, if the tank was dry that would most likely explain the problem that clogged injectors exhibit...

Maybe somebody else will jump in on this......

I tried cranking with the car battery without vehicle running. I get the same results. No start. Any other ideas?
