hey guys got a 1999 suzuki 1500 intruder,i have a slight but enough to notice oil leak coming from the shaft that comes out of the motor that the gearshift bolts onto...my question is can that seal be replaced without pulling the motor?is it meant to be pulled out and a new one popped in? if u have the r&r section of how to do it or explain it to me in laymens terms

When i done mine, Believe it or not, i found a small hill and laid the passenger side on the hill on a blanket and took a crooked pick and pulled the old one out and a deepwell socket and gently knocked the new seal in. Worked great. Mine was a VL800 though.

well that sounds like what i was hoping to do lol but since the bikes r different ill wait and see if anybody has done this,but if not me too i think ill do it that way
