my 1500 had hyd valves, and most larger bike engines have hyd valves, timing chain can sometimes be a maintainence thing around 50,000
MY bet is your mechanic messed with the timing...

Do you mean a knock or a ping (pre-ignition)? Too entirely different causes. I'm asking because you mentioned fuel.
