I think I've solved the majority of this problem. I was able to locate and adjust the throttle position sensor (TPS) on the bike. It was running way too rich and is much better now. I still see some vapor when it's really cold out, but nothing like what I was seeing. Also, it dissipates completely after warming up, and I never see the vapor when the temperature is above 60 degrees. So, I'm now reasonably certain that there is nothing for me to really worry about, except for the fact that I'm not going to get to ride it that much until next spring.

I don't mean to blow a lot of smoke, but the problem was starting to 'exhaust' me.
