C50 rear Noise

I bought a new left over 09 Suzuki Boulevard C50, after about a month a loud clicking noise started coming out of the rear wheel as I put the bike away in the garage. I took it to the dealer and they weren't sure what it was so they called Suzuki. They were told that it was the rear brake. The mechanic did notice a slight distortion in the pads but he thought it was more than that. Suzuki would not authorize him to do any work on it, saying it was normal. I now have 1800 miles on the bike and the noise happens in forward and reverse while in neutral. Any help?

I agree - make a stink at the dealer until they fix it, they sold you the bike and it is 'new' even though it is a 2009. The 'Suzuki won't authorize any more work' is a lame excuse. Hope you get this fixed - sorry for your bad experience.

Here's a copy from an old thread I had created- I had a sound that was a clicking, almost like something was rattling around in the rear. Maybe this will help? Here's what it was:

The problem was a bolt head rubbing against the inside of the pumpkin. There is a part that is sort of donut shaped, with a gear in the center. Around the outside of it are 6 studs that insert into this part here:

The outside part of one of those studs was rubbing against the inside of the pumpkin. They said it happens once in a while. It got slightly misaligned and caused the rubbing, which was very minimal but enough to cause me concern. They said it would have eventually worn down and cleared up. They realigned everything and polished up the bolt head that was rubbing.

Apparently it's cause by torque from the engine accellerating and decellerating, since there really isn't any give with the drive shaft, like when you are accellerating and then back off to brake, it puts a lot of torque on the rear.

Could this happen after a tire change, if the rear wheel was off? I'm noticing a slight noise from the rear from time to time, sometimes while braking, and occasionally while turning.

A noise like you're describing is not "normal". Take it back, if indeed under warranty" and don't let them BS you. Either the factory pays for the issue or dealer themselves.

Not sure that directed to my query, or the original post

Last year I experience a loud and annoying clunking in the rear wheel....Long story short...took wheel off and inside it, a bolt head had broken off and was tumbling around inside. I could have replaced it but chose to tear entire rear wheel...the part and the rim were almost the same in cost...had new tire put on and slapped it back on...now I can fix other rim eventually and have an emergency tire if ever needed or sell it.
